If you're a first time visitor, I highly encourage you to click here to learn more about this site in order for you to get the VERY BEST VALUE out of it. Thank you for visiting!
It’s with great pleasure that I introduce another reader success story, but this time, a special treat. It’s the sequel to “The Captain of His Soul, The Master of his Fate!”
Stephen recently emailed me his updated success story and when I read it, I knew it had to go up on the site. He writes in a very unique fashion and paints a great picture with his words and I think it’s one that will motivate and inspire those who are striving to achieve the goal Stephen already has and those who are pursuing other goals as well.
Remember, it doesn’t matter what goal you’re pursuing – the process you use to achieve them are ALL the same. There’s a natural process of goal achievement that all human beings use to achieve their respective goals.
Stephen’s story is one that will definitely put a smile on your face and the last part is exactly just the type of feeling I want readers to get out of this site and more specifically, The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich upon reading it and fully understanding it.
So without further ado, presented here verbatim:
The sequel to “The Captain of His Soul, The Master of his Fate!“
I made it! I finally did it! Whew! I didn’t think I was going to make this one,
but I did, I made it to the top!
The view is so beautiful up here, it is Majestic.
The air is fresh and clean, the sun shines in the horizon.
The sky is bright blue, with the birds flying in it.
I just have to stop and tilt my head back ever so gently, close my eyes
and let the coolbreeze gently blow on my face.
I finally reopened my eyes and find myself
standing on top of this pinnacle of a huge mountain.
I raised my hands and my arms , took a nice, slow, deep breath
and with all my might I started belting out, VIC… TOR…Y!
This accomplishment is particularly special to me.
because you see I have tried to climb this mountain before,
but there was many obstacles inside and out,
that I allowed, to prevent me in doing it.
I mean the mountain of overcoming Obesity.
In my middle age I became overweight.
Which meant I became heavy, I grew a potbelly, a gut.
As a result, my energy was zapped, and
my knees felt like they were crumbling from underneath me.
My knees were hurting so bad, that at times I couldn’t walk.
To say the least, I became slow and sluggish, my production and performance just suffered.
I was in the survival mode each day, I was just getting by, just trying to make it.
So fear started to plague my mind about this.
That my poor performance is not only affecting me, but my family as well.
Since I am a Tradesmen, the question that kept coming to me was
“How will I continue to provide for my family if I am not physically healthy?”
I thought to myself “if I go down, they will go down with me”.
I just couldn’t have that, so I had to face this mountain
and I did, I literally lost 25lbs!
Now for those who are reading my journal that I have left behind.
There were some gold nuggets that I found along the way that I would like to share.
They weren’t easy to find because they were Secretly Hidden in the World of Think and Grow Rich.
They were:
1. Its wasn’t enough to only desire, but I HAD TO NEED it!
As you read earlier, I had to do something about my weigh problem for my family.
To me that is life and death. So I had to do it, there was no other choice.
2. Mastermind
I therefore joined a group, to receive the information and support I needed. To collaborate with others who either knew more or was experiencing the same thing I was and we could relate, learn and climb together. I realized that I couldn’t do it alone.
3. Never Give up.
Climbing this mountain was painful. I still feel pain as I write. I didn’t run up here, I struggled every bit of the way. I fell, slipped, stumbled and just outright failed. Many times I said to myself what’s the use, but going back was not an option. Winston Churchill once said “Never, never, never, Give Up!” I didn’t and it paid off.
The details in between then naturally fell into place.
My mind is clearer now. My pep has come back into my step,
along with my confidence and energy.
Since losing weight has do with eating,
success, has never tasted so satisfying.
But wait, I just finished yelling out my victory call.
Hey, I see whole range of mountains.
There are strings of them all around me.
Some are so high that their peaks are lost in the clouds.
It’s quiet now, but wait, I hear an echo coming back to me,
It’s saying “Which…one…is…next!?”
mmmm, I think… I’ll pick that one…over there.
Oh, I have to run because I have a long way to go
I’ll see you guys later but remember those gold nuggets, and
I’ll see you at the top!
I want to thank Stephen again for taking the time to write this and for sharing it. I really appreciate it. And I want to congratulate him again on achieving his goal. Shedding 25 pounds is quite a feat! I’m sure there are millions living in America who would be quite envious of him!
It’s a great story and you can feel his emotion through his words and style of writing – the use of his various font sizes, the way he writes his sentences, the words he chooses to emphasize – it’s all there,. That feeling of victory, that “satisfying taste of success”, but more importantly, that feeling that it doesn’t matter what the next mountain is – he knows he can climb it.
It’s exactly the kind of feeling I want people to get out of this site and The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich, to know they can achieve whatever goal they truly desire.
That in it of itself is priceless.
It’s like Brent C. of Canada, another reader of The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich said – “Since reading, I started a business and sold it for a generous sum, but I realized the money didn’t make me feel better, it was knowing that I could achieve what I had set out to do, which in itself possesses much more joy.”
Stephen shares some of the gold nuggets he picked up in The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich he used to help him achieve his goal and for the thousands of you who’ve read it, you can piece together some of the elements of the Hidden Secret in his story and see how he was able to utilize The Hidden Secret to achieve his goal naturally, to take action naturally, to develop persistence naturally, etc. (notice how he said “the details in between them naturally fell into place”).
If you remember the second idea I asked readers to remember in the last couple of paragraphs in my book, you’ll see the importance of its role being played here in his success story as well.
Stephen commented on the benefits of climbing his mountain of obesity – of a clearer mind, a pep back into his step, confidence and energy and the great thing is that he can take all those things and use them to climb his next chosen mountain.
In that respect, I believe focusing on the PHYSICAL, if you’re starting out in self improvement, is the best place to start. Not only do you get a clearer mind, confidence and energy, but you strengthen the mind as well because you cannot but help strengthen the mind when you strengthen the body. The two are forever linked.
When you see change happening before your very eyes in front of the mirror, change that you envisioned and initiated - that will help you climb whatever mountain you seek to climb next, whether it’s the career one, the financial one, the social one, etc.
Losing weight is an especially challenging goal. Stephen himself admits he has tried before, but was unsuccessful in his previous attempts.
BUT, regardless of how challenging a goal is, never forget the power of the human spirit.
Never forget the power to overcome.
Never forget the power to persist.
It’s all there, within each and every one of us and the sooner you discover it like Stephen has, the better your life will become.
So if you haven’t yet discovered it like thousands of others around the world have, now, more than ever before is the time to do it so you climb your own respective mountain and raise your arms in triumph at the top of it.
