Nature’s Way Is Best

By: Brian Kim - July 30, 2007

If you're a first time visitor, I highly encourage you to click here to learn more about this site in order for you to get the VERY BEST VALUE out of it. Thank you for visiting!

So often we don’t give nature a second thought. We don’t realize all the hidden designs, processes, and cycles that nature puts into motion everyday, helping to keep every living organism on our planet alive.

From the water cycle, to photosynthesis, to the food chain, to the many currents in our ocean, to our atmosphere - it truly is marvelous once you stop and think about all of it.

All the great men in history have studied nature and have been fascinated by it as well.

Henry David Thoreau built a small house near Walden pond and lived there for two years, living a very simple life and spent a lot of time observing nature.

During that time, he wrote a book called Life in the Woods, which chronicled his fascination and observation with nature. He was awestruck by the beauty, harmony, and simplicity of the nature that surrounded him.

“Nature is full of genius, full of the divinity; so that not a snowflake escapes its fashioning hand.” Henry David Thoreau

Marcus Aurelius in his classic book Mediations, stressed many times that conformity to nature was best in life.

Zeno, a Greek philosopher, stated that “The goal of life is living in agreement with nature.” from Diogenes Laertius, Lives of Eminent Philosophers

Nature has provided every living thing on earth with what it needs to succeed in life.

So if every living thing lives in agreement with what nature has given it, it has no choice but to succeed.

For example, geese are know to instinctively head south during the winter time, flying in a V shape formation when they do.

They fly south in the winter because of the warmer temperatures and plentiful food resources and they fly in a V formation because it takes less energy overall for each goose in the group to make the trip. They also rotate the lead goose in the V formation as that goose expends the most energy out of all the geese.

Now imagine if geese went against their instinct and flew north in the winter.

And they didn’t fly in a V shape formation. Instead, they fly in a Z shape formation.

The geese would die because of the cold temperature and lack of food up north and they probably wouldn’t even make the trip as it would take too much energy to fly in a Z formation instead of a V.

If they were a keystone species, their predators would die, their prey would flourish, the food chain would get disrupted, we would probably be affected as the insects that geese prey on would flourish and devastate our crops, and everything would be out of harmony.

This just goes to show how important it is to stick to nature’s ways.

Now, it only makes sense that since nature has given animals everything they need to succeed, that nature has also given human beings everything they need to succeed as well.

Whenever I write something, I always make sure to check if it’s conducive with nature, meaning that I check to see if it’s reflective of nature’s overall principles and ideas.

I’m constantly asking myself:

What is nature’s way?
What is the natural way?
Is what I’m writing matching with nature’s overall designs and processes?

If you think back to the previous articles on this blog, you’ll see this train of thought in action.

The Myth of Thinking Big – the whole point of the article was to debunk the myth that if you think big, you’ll accomplish big. There’s nothing wrong with thinking big, only when it’s coupled with thinking small and the process of growth. Nature embraces this simple fact.

You don’t see trees springing up a day after you plant a seed.
You don’t see baby cubs becoming full grown bears overnight.
You don’t see female elephants giving birth to full grown adult elephants.

No.

It’s all a process of growth, little by little over time. There is always a period of growth.

We as humans, try to use our gift of logic and rationalization to think we can jump from small to big in no time, but that is not nature’s way.

You don’t see men accomplishing big things without accomplishing small things first and these small things are often hidden from the public eye, giving weight to the illusion and allure of “thinking big”.

Along with that principle comes the notion is patience. Things take time. Nature takes time. Learn to cultivate long term thinking like the ants do in the summertime.

Instinct is one of the best things that nature has provided us. Animals have instinct. We do as well, only in a slightly different form and label, namely creativity. That’s why you often see articles stressing that you trust your gut, your instincts, your ideas and to write them down when they hit.

There are so many lessons that nature can provide us and because of that, nature is something we should embrace and learn from, not something we should ignore in our day to day lives.

Nature has it all planned out, and as long as you use the processes it has given you, you WILL succeed.

BUT, along with this powerful success process, comes the gambit card of free will.

Human beings have the choice to go against nature should they choose to do so.

Animals don’t have that choice. They respond to their instincts accordingly and succeed in their goals, which just comprise of survival and reproduction.

But, when humans choose to go against nature, they are in for a world of hurt.

You see this all the time with people who are impatient and try to circumvent the process of growth when it comes to making money. They get involved in “get rich quick schemes”, they rob banks, or deal drugs.

The success mechanisms that nature has endowed for animals deal with survival and reproduction. On the other hand, in addition to survival and reproduction, human beings have much nobler intentions.

We are goal seeking beings.

We don’t just live to survive and reproduce. We have the ability to construct goals for ourselves, based on our beliefs about life, and we have the capability already built within us in order to achieve those goals. Nature has already endowed us with them.

So, the question remains, what is the natural success mechanism for goal achievement in humans? And how can we know that we have found it?

One clue to knowing that you’re using your natural success mechanism for goal achievement is if you’re using it, you don’t even realize it, because it’s natural.

Nothing in nature is forced.

Everything flows naturally.

This is important because if you think about it, people back in the day did not have much self improvement material, and even if they did, it wasn’t available to the masses like it is now.

They had to rely on their natural success mechanism that nature endowed with them. They didn’t have or need somebody like Tony Robbins pumping them up.

So with all this self improvement information being readily available to the masses today, why is it that some fail to achieve their goals?

There’s a lot of reasons for this but two main ones stand out.

#1. Nobody is clearly articulating exactly what the natural success mechanism is in human beings.

They are constantly beating around the bush giving advice such as work hard, persevere, be positive, stating the byproducts of the natural success process in human beings, rather than the process itself. Because of that, people are trying to force the byproducts and that never works.

#2. There are those who are leading people more and more away from their natural success mechanism by making them believe that everything they need to succeed is outside themselves.

Buy this magic stone. Wear this special necklace. Join this special club. Then you’ll get everything you want.

They always stress that it’s something outside themselves that they need, not anything from within.

This is why I’m so adamant about my book because it tackles both these issues by clearly articulating what nature’s success mechanism for goal achievement is in human beings and by making them look within themselves to see that it’s right there, rather than somewhere else.

Many people who’ve read the book realized they’ve used the natural success mechanism to achieve their past goals without even knowing it and because they didn’t realize it, that’s how they knew it was their natural success mechanism.

I guarantee that when you read this book, you’ll realize what other readers have come to know, that you used the Hidden Secret without even knowing it to achieve your goals in the past.

We were born to succeed. We were not born to fail, to be brought into this world and to go backwards in life.

But along with the power that comes with the knowledge of our natural success mechanism, comes great responsibility, because man can use his natural success mechanism to achieve his goals, goals which can be noble or evil.

If man were to completely embrace his nature without any sort of system of “checks and balances”, the world would become a very dangerous place.

But since nature has endowed us with free will, with logic, with capability to think for ourselves, it is precisely these tools that tempers man’s powerful natural success mechanism and redirects it toward the achievement of something worthwhile and noble.

But regardless of the nature of the goal, for good or for evil, nature’s success mechanism will work in both cases. The only question depends on the individual and what he/she will decide to use it for.

Nature’s designs and processes are the best in the world, in the known universe. Scientists are now even trying to copy nature in order to develop new technologies (imitation is indeed, the sincerest form of flattery).

Find out exactly what nature’s success mechanisms is for human beings when it comes to goal achievement.

Use it.

And what you’ll find is that it works, each and every single time, and that you didn’t even know you were applying it in the past, simply because you were using what nature had already given to you.
