Be Open to All the Possibilities Life Has to Offer

One really, really bad habit we all have is shooting ourselves in the foot before we even start the race.

We think if we take a certain action, we know what the outcome will be, namely that the outcome will be bad so we don’t take that action.

But you don’t know what can come about if you DID take the action.

Maybe not what you expected but something else, something different, something that can spark a chain reaction.

There are SO MANY POSSIBILITIES.

You might not apply for a job because you don’t think you’re qualified but what if you are the most qualified out of all the applicants? Or what if you’re not the most qualified but they see from your resume and interview you’re perfect for another job they haven’t advertised yet?

We limit ourselves so much and the WORST PART of it all is that WE ARE NOT CONSCIOUS OF IT.

The thing is – the whole process happens so fast, we don’t take the time to see what’s really going on.

Think about it.

You set about going to do something and then you “forecast” the result in your head.

You run a mental simulation, a simulation I might add that’s based on absolutely nothing.

But even if it’s based on something, namely the past but the past is the past and the present has a whole different set of variables in play.

And then after that, you get sad based on this assumed forecast you think is true when in reality, it has no basis at all, so you don’t do anything and you’re right back at square one.

What the hell is going on?

You’re not doing something because you’re basing that decision on an outcome that you played out in your mind that isn’t even based on anything and even if it is based on something, has no merit because you don’t have all the present facts, not to mention millions of possibilities that can occur by doing something and then you get sad and don’t do anything.

Again, what the hell is going on?

Really see what’s going on.

For a lot of you, you might be seeing your thought process for the very first time as clear as day right now.

That level of thinking – that thinking that involves you absolutely knowing what will happen if you do X so you don’t do it – that level of thinking is keeping you where you are today.

Let that sink in.

I’ll repeat it again.

That level of thinking – that thinking that involves you absolutely knowing what will happen if you do X so you don’t do it – that level of thinking is keeping you where you are today.

So how do you break free from that level of thinking?

Simple.

Like the title of the article says:

BE OPEN TO ALL THE POSSIBILITIES LIFE HAS TO OFFER.

Be open.

Be curious.

Let it all hit you.

Don’t give into fear.

Fear causes you to miss out on the possibilities of life.

Fear causes you to mentally forecast a scenario that prevents you from taking action because you *think* you know what’s going to happen.

There are so many little things in life that can turn your life around in an instant that can come about from just taking ONE action.

Go for it.

You think you can’t contact a celebrity to pitch a cool business idea because you think they get contacted all the time?

But what if everybody thinks that and doesn’t contact them as a result and because of that, what if it’s very easy for you to get in touch with them?

You don’t know.

Don’t assume you know what’s going to happen.

And for that matter, don’t try to see all the possibilities that might happen either as that can set you up for disappointment.

Just be a scientist.

Experiment.

Mix chemicals.

Be open to anything that might happen.

See what the reactions are.

Do things.

Throw it all against the wall.

It’s one of the best ways to navigate this sometimes confusing journey we call life.
